April 21st to 28th, 2017 - Luka Ilić and Bojan Cvetković (SEEVCCC, RHMSS) participated in PRE-TECT, an atmospheric experiment organized by the National Observatory of Athens at Finokalia, Crete. The PRE-TECT campaign was framed by a number of parallel activities with the specific aim to validate the remote sensing retrievals against surface and airborne in-situ measurements. Two thematic pilot studies of GEO-CRADLE were addressed in PRE-TECT, the dust forecast service and the SENSE energy system for the determination of solar energy. Both services were validated against dust and radiation measurements that performed from ground and air over Greece and Cyprus.

From 27th January to 26th April, 2017: M.Sc Tijana Milićević won a grant (Erasmus+ for student mobility) for staying at the Laboratory of Environmental and Urban Ecology, Department of Bioscience Engineering, University of Antwerp, Antwerpen, Belgium. During this period, Tijana did a part of her Ph.D. research (research towards saturation isothermal remanent magnetization, SIRM, of the agricultural soil and leaves).
March 23th - In the framework of the GEO-CRADLE Adaptation to Climate Change (ACC) pilot, IPB along with the network partners takes part in the PRE-TECT experimental campaign in order to run and validate the desert dust forecasting module of the pilot. Moreover, advanced ground-based radiation measurements will be used to evaluate the SENSE energy system for the determination of solar energy.
The experiment will take place from 1st 30th April 2017, aiming to advance the ACC and Energy GEO-CRADLE pilots. Detailed information on the participants and the instrumentation can be found under http://pre-tect.space.noa.gr/
March 20th - The interview with IPB partner related to the regional activities on Adaptation to Climate Change and Energy within GEOCRADLE project has been published on BN television in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The GEOCRADLE tools Regional Data Hub and Networking Platform together with opportunity for better sharing of information and knowledge among EO stakeholder in the region as one of the GEOCRADLE goals is presented.
