Mineral stress and plant adaptations to marginal agricultural soils - 173028

2011 - 2019

On marginal agricultural land plant growth is limited by various environmental factors that affect plant growth. One of the most important factors is mineral stress. The aim of this project is to examine the growth of plants in changed natural conditions, the adoption of mechanisms that plants use nutrients, as well as the restoration of degraded habitats.

One of the aims of this project is also the determination of heavy metals in leaves of selected plants that grow in the conditions of the urban environment. The results of these measurements indicate the ability of using these plants as a biomonitor species.
